“This would have been my 13th dive, open-certified but I failed to meet the expectations of the guide (which is fine) for the caves in Dos Ojos. He was incredibly rude to me, biased against women and I literally couldn’t stand his presence so decided against continuing with the dive, partly to appease him and mostly to relieve myself of his presence—what a backward customer experience! He reiterated over and over again to the group that “we’re adults”, “we’re divers” and can do what we want which made NO sense to me. We were relying on him as a guide and frankly, as a good human, to advise open-water divers…”
